Created by Silke Hanzen in 2015, TaikoSessions allow for a variety of taiko players—not necessarily within the same taiko groups—to come together and play with one another in different places mostly around Düsseldorf, but also in other citys and European countries. Through decentering practices by not having a single workshop leader, Silke encourages taiko players to work communally and bring their own skills and rhythms to each session. These jam sessions allow for individual taiko players to meet, learn from, and grow alongside one another.
